Ways that Pay!
Performance Management is not just about documenting infractions or disciplinary action. Performance Management encompasses your organizations performance belief system, Performance Review process, Employee Recognition, and more.
Food for Thought: How does your organization recognize good behavior and offer immediate rewards and incentives? What about pre-printed cards that resemble lottery scratch-offs? The pre-printed cards can be illustrated with a theme, and once the employee scratches off the portion of the card, it reveals a non-monetary gift, such as 8 hours of sick or vacation. The scratch-offs would need to be kept in a secure location.
Organizations can also consider positive employee documentation as a way to recognize outstanding performance. Send an email to clientservices@md-tservices.com, and we’ll send you a complimentary template!
If you want to go the tech route, take a look at Bonusly. The Bonusly platform offers peer-to-peer recognition, Kudos, and more!

Ways that make em’ Stay!
What’s your compensation strategy? What are your organization’s views and philosophy regarding properly compensating your team?
Consider this. Compensation isn’t about hours and earnings calculated on employee timecards and paid out every other week. It’s really about Total Rewards! Total Reward is a form of compensation that considers benefits, retirement plans, discounts on products, vacation allowances, sick allowances, fringe benefits, car allowances, and more. Consider showcasing the Employer (ER) Cost of benefits and the cost of Employee health insurance deductions on pay slips. This is a great way to show how much your organization invests in your employees.
Considers Upskilling opportunities. Upskilling offers employees a way to learn new skills that benefit your company. A solid example might be offering a lunch and learn for developing Excel skills. Identify your Excel resident “expert” and offer an incentive to teach an hour-long session.
If you don‘t have a Total Rewards strategy, we can help. We can also develop methods to showcase this strategy for new hires as a recruiting and retention tool to retain your team.

Ways to Say Thanks!
How do you say thank you and or show your appreciation? During and after the pandemic, organizations that commonly committed to an annual Corporate Event, Employee Appreciation, or employee-focused event took a giant leap back from these efforts. While it probably felt good to either reinvest or save the budgeted dollars, now is the time (especially in our continued war for talent) to show appreciation in some way. I recall a time I was working for a company a few years ago that invested in employee corporate events. I was in the organization for seven years, and after my 3rd year, our former owners decided to sell this division of the company and essentially buy out. We were then acquired by a PE firm that ran a tight ship but also allowed for some employee-oriented affairs as long as we met EBITDA, our most critical company metric, and the funds were budgeted. I planned corporate events at the historic Houston Zoo and the Downtown Houston Aquarium (both were massive hits).
It’s not too late for an accrual and budget allocation for a fun time with family and coworkers celebrating the team’s appreciation. MDT offers Corporate Event planning services, and we can work with your budget. We will plan and organize, coordinate efforts leading up to the day of the event, and manage this part as well.
